Seven Things to Remember When Selecting Wordpress Themes for Your
Website
If you are currently planning a new website either for personal use
or for your business and you have decided to go for Wordpress and one of the
many themes out there then you might want to consider the following points
before you choose your theme:
(1) Do You Intend to Make Money with this Blog? - If so, then
you will need to seriously consider going for one of the many paid, premium or
custom themes on the market so that you can guarantee making your site appear
to be as professional as possible.
(2) Will There Be Many Other Blogs Using Similar Themes? - If
you decide on going for one of the popular free Wordpress themes or
alternatively if you choose a very popular premium or paid theme then you
should know that your site will look a lot like any number of other
sites.
(3) Will Your Theme Be SEO Ready? - If you go for a free theme
then you will find a broad variety in terms of the CSS and HTML coding that
will need to be done for search engine optimization. Paid and premium themes
will more likely be ready-optimized for you.
(4) Does the Theme Fit with Your Plans for Monetization? - If
you hope to make money out of your site by the use of banner ads, Adsense and
text link adverts then you need to ensure you buy a theme that accommodates
them in the correct way.
(5) Does the Theme Come with Good Support? - A great many
premium themes are worth paying for simply because they include excellent
levels of support form the theme designers. If you are wondering whether to go
for premium but don't have good coding skills then you should take the plunge
and pay for a service with full support. In the long run it will make a lot of
difference to your site.
(6) Will Your Company Logo Fit the Theme? - If your company or
business already has a logo or alternatively a set colour scheme then you
should double check that the theme you are going to buy will blend in well with
the logo and colours. If not, buy something else.
(7) Do Widgets Work with your New Theme? - If you intend on
messing with the sidebar and you haven't got code skills then you'll be needing
to use widgets. Make sure your theme is fully equipped to handle
widgets.
